Once Upon a Time in Japan - OOTD
As you know from my last post, I had went to Japan last April and loved every minute of it. I thought that in between my city exploration posts (city exploration? yeah that's a thing), I would share some of my go to outfits that I decided to wear while roaming the streets in Japan. All the links for anything similar are going to be on the pictures after the outfit posts :)
Numéro Un
This one was taken right after we went to sushi, so this outfit is hiding the massive food baby that occurred just a moment ago. Very comfortable for the tons of walking that we did, this outfit was quite different and outside of my comfort zone since it involved a skirt. I bought this skirt right before the trip and thought it was such a versatile piece that can be incorporated seamlessly in my wardrobe. Can be dressed casually with a t-shirt and sneakers but also can be dressed more formally with a blouse and some nice sandals, flats or heels. I also loved the Tortoise shell buttons and the khaki green colour that is a nice alternative to black. The shirt is a twist on just a plain white tee, encompassing patches of see-through fabric as well as embroidered abstract designs all over the shirt. Featuring a cropped and elastic hem, this piece is perfect for high waisted bottoms or just summer nights when you want to slightly expose some skin. Styled with my go-to Nike Sneakers (which are currently looking worse for wear) and with a bright orange purse that gives the look a contrasting detail of colour.
Shirt - Aritzia
Skirt - Zara
Purse - Topshop
Shoes - Nike
While it is a different style, below is a visual of the detail in the shirt that I was describing along with an alternative of the skirt.
Numéro Deux
These were taken at the Miho Museum in Kyoto and the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Kyoto. Wonderful and amazing experience if you have time in Kyoto (the Miho is quite far from the city but such a serene part to visit.)
Keeping it very casual, wore my favorite Nikes with a Blue-Gray Uniqlo T-Shirt (This is part of their Uniqlo U Future of Lifewear, is 100% Cotton and thicker than my other t-shirts. I think the quality and durability of the T-shirt is great for the price) and some Topshop Moto Straight Jeans. This cropped hoodie is from Oak and Fort, which has become one of my go-to brand this summer. Off-white and black speckled (I have a thing for speckles), this hoodie was so nice to put over casual outfits while also keeping some warmth in those AC conditions. Paired with my Dior staple sunglasses (bought these 2 summers ago and still love them), I will wear this outfit any time of the year.
T-Shirt - Uniqlo
Hoodie - Oak & Fort
Jeans - Topshop
Sunglasses - Dior
Numéro Trois
As you might have guessed it, this was taken at Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, which was a bigger trek than I had anticipated. Again, these nikes are just so comfortable that I apparently never took them off my feet. I wore a black Zara dress which i got more than 3 years ago. It is so simple and easy to throw on that its just one of my staple pieces. It's a halter neck style which I think it is a flattering silhouette and is a great length. The blouse is super colourful, kind of Japanese-esque, with the flowers and colour palette. One of the things I love to do is use nice button-up blouses to put over t-shirts or dresses, which is a nice alternative to sweaters or blazers given the airiness but also a different juxtaposition.
Dress - Zara
Shirt - Zara
Shoes - Nike
Hope you enjoyed this and stay tuned for more to come :)
Thank you for all the support xx
