The Interior Jungle. Deuxième Partie.

Trust that the song posted is smooth af. Just go through it once. You'll see what I mean.

Since moving to the 6ix in early 2016, I have since expanded my horizons and have come across flora that have become part of my extended interior jungle. Each one is unique, bringing warmth and colour to the apartment. As you can see, the orchid is missing. While I still have it, it has seen better days. You can see it when I posted the first part of the Interior Jungle.  Without further ado, let me present the members.

I call this one School Bus. Because these succulents are in a row, it reminds of kids sitting on the bus. Riveting stuff, but the name has since stuck. This one makes a recurring appearance on the coffee table courtesy of the boyfriend.

Lolita is the Pineapple top looking one. Which is one of the reasons why I got it. Second is named Shitface, primarily because the initial cactus in the pot (seen in the First Edition of the Interior Jungle) had shrivelled and died. Got a very similar cactus and replaced it and has forever been known as Shitface. Both were purchased at markets in TO, from Your Pal, Al. Love the concrete aspect of the pot with the bold stripe at the bottom - gives it a bit of edge.

This beaut, Blossom, got its name from its similarities to a real flower, when in fact it is a succulent. It's hexagonal shape and marble coating makes this a must have piece.  Also bought at a market in TO, this one is from Double L Decor.

The most recent addition to the gang, Artemis, is one of my most unique finds. I love this shape and how it sits on my coffee table, with SchoolBus.  Crown Flora Studio in TO do the most amazing shapes of terrariums and have such a big selection of plants and flowers. Highly recommend :)

The next two are Buster and Luna. The pots are from H&M Home and the plants are from Crown Flora Studio and Canadian Tire. Quick tip: Canadian Tire is an amazing place to find succulents and cacti at such good prices. Then you just need to get nice pots at stores like Ikea or Winners. BAM. Nice plants.

These final two, Carlos and Dugtrio (OG Pokemon fans, you get this), are also both from Canadian Tire but have pots from Canadian Tire and an independent Flower Shop in TO. Probably going to replace the plain orange pot with another, but just haven't found anything that I like.

As you can see, every cactus/succulent have something different about them. I try to get some variety to add to my collection. I love how they add a touch of nature and greenery to the apartment while still being quite easy to maintain. Most of my plants stay displayed on this DIY shelving unit that my boyfriend had made for me:

We got the inspiration from some pictures posted on Pinterest, but the final concept we finally figured out ourselves. I think it turned out amazing and love the style that it adds to our living space.

Hope you enjoyed the second part of the Interior Jungle. While the first part had a real narrative to it, this second part has showcased the plants itself rather than its impact to my space as a whole. Both are quite different in writing styles but are still representative of me and my views.

Missed you and stay tuned for the next one.
